PROLITE-42 replacement electrodes

The electrodes are a staple to make quality optical fiber fusion splices.

The electrodes wear out with use and have to be cleaned periodically due to silica oxide accumulated. the replacement of the electrodes is recommended after 2500 arc discharges.

Splicer usually alert you with a message "arc" when the electrodes are worn

These electrodes are supplied in pairs.

Exchange of electrodes

To make the change of electrodes must follow these instructions:

1. Turn power off and unplug power cord.
2. Open the shield. The Figure shows the structure of the electrodes.
3. Removed electrode by loosing screw of the electrode holder. Insert new pair of electrodes and tighten screw alternately while pushing insulated part of the electrode.
4. Plug in the power cord, turn on the power switch, and then stabilize electrodes.
